Dallas social media companies, compared on evidence
Social media is the easiest marketing service to buy badly, because the deliverable everyone quotes, a number of posts per month, has almost no relationship to the outcome anyone actually wants. Two Dallas providers can offer the same post count at similar prices and be selling completely different things: one a content studio producing original video, the other a scheduler recycling stock imagery. This page explains what a social retainer really contains, which parts drive results, and what a buyer should insist on seeing before signing.

How to buy social media management in Dallas
- Decide what the channel is for. Awareness, community, recruitment and direct response need different content and different measurement. Write down which one you are buying before you take a meeting, because a provider optimising for reach will not produce the enquiries you were quietly expecting.
- Separate production from management. Management is scheduling, community replies and reporting. Production is photography, video, design and copy. Ask which the retainer covers, how many original assets it produces monthly, and whether shoot days, travel and talent are extra lines on the invoice.
- Ask who replies, and how fast. Comments and direct messages are where social converts and where reputational damage starts. Establish the response window, the hours covered, who has approval to answer a complaint, and what gets escalated to you rather than answered by an account executive.
- Fix the disclosure rules before any creator work. If the plan involves creators or incentivised posts, the FTC's endorsement guidance requires that material connections between advertiser and endorser be disclosed clearly. Agree who is responsible for briefing creators and for checking the disclosure actually appeared.
What moves the price
Original production dominates the cost. A retainer that includes a monthly shoot day producing photography and short video is a different business from one that designs graphics from your existing assets, and it should be priced several times higher. Platform count is next: each additional network adds format work, not just reposting, and providers who charge the same for two networks and five are usually cross posting identical assets.
Paid media is the third variable, and it should always appear as a separate line. Keep media spend and management fee distinct on the invoice so you can read what the management costs, compare it against other providers and move it if the results drift. A single blended number makes both impossible.
Evidence to ask for before you sign
Ask for live accounts, not slides. A provider should be able to point you at three profiles they currently run, where you can scroll the last six months and judge the consistency, the quality and the comment activity yourself. Then ask for the strategy document behind one of them, redacted if needed, so you can see whether there is a plan under the output.
Ask about ownership and offboarding while relations are good. The accounts, the page administrator rights, the ad account and the asset library should be yours, and you should be told in writing what you receive on the last day of the contract. Providers who build inside their own business manager are creating a cost you will pay later.
Questions people actually ask
- What does social media management cost in Dallas?
- It spans a very wide range because the label covers everything from scheduling existing assets to full video production. Ask each provider for a quote against the same brief specifying platforms, original assets per month and whether a shoot is included, then compare.
- How many posts per month do we need?
- Post count is the wrong unit. Consistency and relevance beat volume on every major platform, and one strong piece of original content usually outperforms several filler posts. Buy a production capacity you can sustain rather than a number that fills a calendar.
- Should the same company run our paid social?
- Often yes, since the creative and the targeting inform each other. Just insist on separate lines for media spend and management fee, and on holding the ad account yourself, so performance can be judged and the relationship can end without losing your history.
- How do we measure whether social is working?
- Agree the measure before the work starts and tie it to the purpose you chose. Awareness reads as reach and saves, community as replies and repeat engagement, direct response as tracked enquiries or sales. Reporting that only shows follower growth is reporting the easiest number to move.
